Conversation had with my mother on Mother's day...
Set up:We went on a kayaking trip through a few canals and then into the bay. In our bag we had some brie, veggies, and a thermos of wine...all the makings of a GREAT trip! (keep in mind alligators are my biggest fear!)
Scene:Paddling along and all of a sudden see an 8 ft gator.
Me:Immediatly start back paddling.
Mom:Just go around him.
Me:NNNOOOO WAAAY. Then I proceed to do that.
This same scene repeats about 4 different times with 4 different gators.
Me:OMG mom why didn't they tell us there would be this many alligators?
Mom:Oh I knew there were going to be alligators but I knew if I told you, you wouldn't want to go?
Took a little time to myself for the last couple weeks. Had to get back to me! And finally I did. I have had some positive changes. Sometimes you don’t realize you have lost yourself until a radical change comes along! I have to say I feel happier, healthy, and ready to have a great summer full of adventure and new things!!!!
10) Some days will be better than others. Some days will be worse than others. If you are lucky enough to be graduating now, you will have the creeping sense that all your worries fall under the heading of First World Problems. “No one who owns this many sweaters is entitled to be unhappy,” you will tell yourself. This is wrong. Let yourself be unhappy because it will tell you what needs fixing. When your body feels pain, it alerts you that something is wrong. If the 1950s taught us anything, it is that you can only spend so much time pretending to be contented before you rupture something.
I’m currently speeding home from work to avoid a twister esque storm. It straight from the movie y’all. And while I LOVE twister It’s scary. So I guess I would not be the storm chasers in that movie. Haha.
